For car enthusiast Chris Hannagan the motor trade was an obvious career.

He joined the SVS team in 2001 as a car groomer then put in the hard-yards to progress through the ranks, becoming a key member of our sales team in 2005.

Chris’ passion for cars (kindled as a toddler tinkering in his grandfather’s garage) is evident in the superior knowledge he brings to his work.

The internet has certainly expanded car yard realms with tools like Auto Trader and Trade Me meaning more Southland vehicles are being snapped up by clients from outside the region.

Chris deems attributes like honesty and trust as crucial to success, especially as many clients purchase vehicles sight unseen.

They are among the traits he and his partner Mel hope to install in sons Kane, 5, and Jacob, 4. The youngsters are already following in their father’s footsteps with a hankering for anything with wheels firmly entrenched.
