Bobby Murrel
New Kia Sales
Bobby Murrell was just a teenager when he first pulled on the Southland jersey to tackle an Auckland team boasting 13 All Blacks - legends Grant Fox, John Kirwan, David Kirk and Sean Fitzpatrick among them.
The young halfback embraced the daunting challenge and carved out an impressive career at the elite level over the next eight years. Gutsy determination - and a hearty dose of talent - held Bobby in good stead on and off the pitch.
When he finally hung up his rugby boots in 2000, Bobby discovered his sporting traits had a valuable role to play in business - commitment, honesty and a winning attitude.
Teaming up with his brother Richard at Southland Vehicle Sales, Bobbys passionate approach to life never wanes and he thrives on the people-focused nature of the motor industry.
"Kia are a perfect fit with Southlanders and the unique environment we live in."
"Repeat business is a good gauge of success. It reflects your integrity and work ethic - both important and respected attributes in Southland."

For the past three years, Bobbys managed our new Kia sales and can be credited with the stylish, fuel efficient but affordable Korean-made cars now claiming 15 percent of Southlands new car market - at times even outselling Toyota, Ford and Holden.
Growing up on the familys Waikawa farm, Bobbys racked up plenty of kilometres around the region and is well qualified to rate vehicle performance - and Kia comes up trumps.
Unashamedly parochial, Bobby and wife Nicole couldn't think of a better place to raise their family - daughter Sam, 12, and sons William, 9, and Josh, 7. The young trio has already notched up an impressive list of achievements - both sporting and academic.
And Bobby still loves a challenge, even donning the gloves to compete in the Fight for Kidz charity boxing event - just one of many local organisations supported by the SVS team.
