PowerNet Tour of Southland

Blustery winds, torrential rain, the infamous Bluff Hill, nearly 900km of challenging Southern terrain to endure " and still the PowerNet Tour of Southland appeals.

Hailed as New Zealand’s premier cycling tour, the annual fixture continues to capture the imagination of the Southland public as traditionally quiet rural roads come alive when the field speeds past

First staged in 1956 as a three"day tour to mark Invercargill’s centenary celebrations, the Tour of Southland has since gained momentum with New Zealand’s champion cyclists eager to count the grueling event among their accomplishments.

Testament to its standing on the global stage, the tour was awarded UCI status in 2002 and became a registered 2.2 UCI International Tour.
